Description	Based on Wu Jutang\\'s Yin Qiao San, this is an effective medicine when used within the first twelve to twenty-four hours of the earliest symptoms of sore throat or general aching. It is a popular formula, attested by its availability in seventeen products by different manufacturers. The herbs Lonicera Jin Yin Hua and Forsythia Lian Qiao (which define the name Yin Qiao) are specific for treating upper respiratory viruses. This product is also used in early stage pathogenic wind cold to good effect. Once the viral pathogen works its way in to the interior with more pronounced symptoms, switch to formulas treating pathogenic wind with heat toxins.
