| Description | Acrid, hot, and drying, Hydnocarpi Semen (da feng zi) expels wind, dries dampness, kills parasites, and attacks toxins. It is specific for the treatment of tinea, scabies, and leprosy, and is primarily used externally. Although it has been used internally in the past, it is very toxic and frequently causes nausea, vomiting, and injury to the blood and yin. Hydnocapri Semen has been shown to be effective in the treatment of urticaria when grouped together with garlic, boiled for five minutes, then applied.
