Description

This product was designed to assist in supporting cardiovascular function.* Containing vitamin B3 (niacin), chromium, phytosterols, gugulipids, policosanol, CoQ10, and red yeast rice, Cholesto Red may also help keep cholesterol levels in the normal range.

Red yeast rice is a product of the yeast Monascus purpureus that is grown on rice and is a dietary staple in some Asian countries. Not only is it used as a food preservative, food color, and spice, but red yeast rice has been shown in various studies to reduce LDL, total cholesterol, and triglycerides.* Red yeast rice inhibits the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is the same enzyme acted upon by statin medications to help reduce the body’s manufacture of cholesterol.

Phytosterols are plant steroid alcohols (natural organic compounds found in some plants) that block the absorption of cholesterol from the intestines. This can result in a reduction of serum cholesterol levels.*

Policosanol may protect against the oxidation of lipids, as well as reduce liver production of cholesterol and improve blood levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.*

Gugulipids (Commiphora mukul): Guggul is an Ayurvedic herb derived from the plant Commiphora mukul. Commonly used in India to treat high cholesterol & atherosclerosis, it has been shown to lower high triglycerides (Agarwal, 1986), total cholesterol (Nityanand, 1989), and LDL cholesterol (Szapary, 2003)*. Guggul lipids also protect against lipid peroxidation.*

Chromium (Nicotinate Glycinate TRAACS™): The Albion® patented minerals are designed to do the stomach’s work in advance by producing low molecular weight mineral compounds in which the minerals are bound to amino acids to produce natural organic chelates that can pass easily through the intestinal wall. TRAACS® stands for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System and is the Albion® branded trade name for a range of patented products. Chromium is an essential mineral needed for insulin activity in carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism.

Niacin (vitamin B3) (Inositol Hexanicotinate) has been shown in research studies to support the reduction of serum cholesterol and triglycerides.*

Cholesto Red incorporates the vital antioxidant MicroActive® CoQ10 to assist in the formation of the basic energy molecule, ATP. CoQ10 has been researched for its potential benefits to cardiovascular and periodontal health, carbohydrate metabolism, and stamina.
MicroActive® CoQ10 provides:
• 3 times better absorbed than regular (crystalline) CoQ10
• 2 times better absorbed than solubilized (enhanced bioavailability) CoQ10 softgels
• Doubles CoQ10 levels from baseline after 3 weeks in 100% of users
