Clear Heat from the Qi Level

Qi level symptoms include:

  • fever
  • profuse sweating
  • irritability
  • thirst
  • rapid, large, flooding pulse
  • red tongue

The same presentation can be found in bright yang disorder or when heat is not cleared during recovery stage of febrile disease which results in damage to both yin and qi. One can distinguish between a pattern from that lodged in either the deeper or more superficial level by noting presence or absence of thirst.
