Description

Ginseng and Gecko Formula is designed to treat chronic coughs due to Lung Qi vacuity when there are also manifestations of Heat and Phlegm. If a cough persists for an extended period of time it will weaken the Lung Qi and affect Metal\\'s relationship with Earth on the generating or sheng cycle. A weakness of the Lungs (son), can inhibit the function of the Spleen (mother) resulting in the improper transformation of fluids in the body, thus generating Dampness and Phlegm. Over time these fluids may stagnate and transform into Heat causing a chronic cough and wheezing with thick yellow sputum and congestion in the chest. In more severe cases there may be expectoration of pus or blood and edema of the face. The chief ingredient in this formula is Gecko (ge jie), which strengthens both the Lungs and Kidneys and addresses the symptoms of wheezing by assisting the Kidneys in grasping the Lung Qi.
