Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens represent a unique product line: 1:20 extract from young buds and shoots, macerated in equal parts of alcohol, water and natural glycerin. While there may be other phytotherapies available on the market, none quite match the purity, strength and effectiveness of Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens.

In a recent laboratory analysis versus a leading competitor, Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens were found to have:

• Greater frequency of higher tannin concentrations as measured via the European Pharmacopoeia 6.0 standards (see Figure 1)
• Greater frequency of higher flavonoid concentrations as measured via spectrophotometry (see Figure 1)
• Tannin and flavonoid measurements that appear to be more homogeneous

Two concentrated bud macerates were analyzed: Hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) and Fig (Ficus carica). Both tannins & flavonoids were measured by an independent laboratory. Tannins were measured based on the European Pharmacopoeia 6.0 standards. Flavonoids were measured based on spectrophotometry.

Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens present themselves as a darker color than competitors (see Figure 2), which may be due to a higher content of flavonoid-type molecules. Moreover, this line is less sweet and viscous, as it may contain less glycerin than competitors.

In a visual comparison of the same single remedy, Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens appear to be more concentrated than a leading competitor.

Another laboratory analysis demonstrates that while chromatographic profiles are similar, Genestra Brands^® Phyto-gens appear to be more loaded – meaning a larger range of molecules is extracted in the macerates when compared to a leading competitor (see Figure 3). The density and the dry-matter content of the competitor product tend to be lower due to higher glycerin levels.
